Veteran Oasis Park Engagement - Anna & Kyle

It’s obvious that love can grow even in the strangest of places--that’s one of the biggest cliches when it comes to romance, isn’t it? Even so, a small convenience store in Vermont seems to be an unusual one! Kyle and Anna worked together for a while, and eventually moved here to Arizona to be closer to Anna’s parents.

But, as often happens with college students, Anna graduated from Arizona State University, and so she went back to Vermont to celebrate. Kyle took Anna to their favorite sushi spot, and amidst the wasabi and soy sauce and delicately-constructed rolls, he looked at her and knew he had to ask. It was planned, of course: Kyle had his beautifully-crafted heirloom ring in his pocket, and he hoped that Anna would become the third generation of brides to marry into his family.

Of course, Kyle wanted to wait until dessert. He ordered wine--wait, wine? Anna knew something was a little strange there, because Kyle’s definitely more of a beer guy, but she thought he just had a craving. She turned her head, ready for the soft, sweet mochi, and there it was: Kyle’s gesture of eternal love. The ring.

As we hope you’d know if you’re reading this, Anna said yes! These two are truly fun to be around. While we often talk about couples laughing when asked how they got engaged (especially the women!), Kyle and Anna never seem to stop laughing. It’s not just laughter, though: this picture-perfect couple knows how to have a good time. Festivals are their forte, particularly beer gardens and samplings. They love trying new flavors, from IPAs to ales to stouts, and what’s better with beer than socializing?

Kyle and Anna were amazing. They talked to us a bit about Anna’s bank career, about Kyle’s landscaping management, and about sports--Anna loves basketball, while Kyle loves ‘em all. That’s part of what makes these two so easy to get along with: they love to laugh, they love socializing, and they’re open to new connections. Photographing them felt like hanging out with old friends. We’re so glad we got to be a part of their story.

Kyle and Anna, we wish you all the best!

Hyatt Regency of Scottsdale Engagement - Brandy & Jake

We’re pretty sure that when Brandy and Jake were getting ready for their engagement shoot at the Hyatt Regency of Scottsdale, they didn’t anticipate playing a game of chess, but playfulness seems to be part and parcel for this couple. Amidst the hotel pool guests enjoying the warm air and sunshine, the classic yet modern architecture of the Regency, and decor that matches their wedding colors (tiffany blue, silver white, with geometric shapes and Jake’s cowboy boots--what else would be a great blend of rustic and modern?), Brandy and Jake had an amazing time with the chess game and the Regency’s landscape. After the game, they sat down across from each other, a warm glow cast around them, a halo from the overhead light. Their sweet smiles and laughter helped their love shine just as bright as the afternoon sun. We’re a little jealous!

These two met during high school, but their relationship didn’t start until college, and now it’s been an amazing four-and-a-half years, filled with hiking and the great outdoors. There’s one big thing on their bucket list: a trip to Havasu Falls. We’re sure it’d be a nice honeymoon!

Of course, no good outdoor-loving couple would be complete with just the desert. Brandy and Jake took a special trip to Scottsdale’s Odysea Aquarium and Dolphinaris complex, traveling to the ocean in the middle of our East Valley desert. Swimming with the dolphins is already a special occasion, but Jake made sure Brandy would remember it for the rest of her life: they swam, and after they left the tank, Jake begged for a photo to commemorate the day. He fiddled with his towel when they exited, fumbling with it until Brandy finally wondered what was taking so long, why he still had the towel when he got to the camera, why he was down on one knee… and then it hit her. Jake had a painstakingly-chosen ring in his hand, a look of hope in his eyes, and what else could Brandy do? She said yes, naturally--and the lucky couple has been ready for an adventure together ever since. We’re so happy to have been able to be a part of their engagement shoot. Brandy and Jake, you guys were a BLAST to photograph, and you’re an adorable couple to boot! We wish you all the best!

Nichol's Park Engagement - Katrina & Kyle

We don’t know about you, but when we think about fairytales, we think of a prince and princess, of glass slippers and majestic castles, of fancy dresses and happy endings. Now, though? Whenever we think fairytales, all we can picture is Katrina and Kyle! These two truly have a fairytale romance.

Picture it: May of 2017. Packed bags, airplane tickets, and that little bit of stress that always comes with traveling… but for Kyle, it had a little more: a single, tiny extra item tucked away in his luggage, the perfect ring to express his eternal love for his princess. He even thought of a plan B in case TSA found the ring and spoiled it.

Every tale needs a fairy godmother, though, right? His must have been watching over him, because everything went off without a hitch. The special cargo was safe, TSA was a breeze, and the airplane took off. Destination: Disneyland!

Kyle was following a tradition set by his brother and sister, one that Katrina didn’t know about: the Happiest Place on Earth would make Katrina’s special day even better. Not just any Disneyland, though. He took it one step further and whisked Katrina off to Disneyland Paris!

Pulling out all the stops, Kyle knew it was time. In front of Cinderella’s Castle, he held the ring tightly in his hand, and got down on a single knee, and finally asked Katrina the all-important question (do we really need to tell you?).

It was Katrina’s turn to have her own once-upon-a-time story.

Of course, we got to be a part of it too, a little later. Their engagement shoot was exciting! The weather was spectacular, with wind breezing through the trees, picking leaves to strew on the ground like a magic carpet, transforming our location into an enchanted forest. The wind even blew Katrina’s handmade sign in all directions, making everything feel all the more mystical!

Katrina and Kyle were honestly the vision of the perfect couple, sharing secret smiles, quiet laughter, and even fixing each others’ poses! Their delicate kisses made us swoon and our hearts swell. Love really doesn’t get any more perfect than these two.

Congratulations, Katrina and Kyle! We believe in your love, and we’re sure you know: if you keep on believing, the dream that you wish will come true.
