Veteran's Oasis Park Family - The Thompsons

We headed out to the tranquil landscape of Veteran's Oasis Park to meet long time client Christel to shoot her family holiday photos. It was perfect weather for a family outing! The setting sun had cast a warming glow creating a suiting mood for this fun family. Mom and Dad, John, beamed with love and happiness. The photo of them sharing a kiss was a special moment. The children shielding their eyes because it was just “gross” when really it was magical. They both have an obvious ever lasting love for each other! An exciting moment came when a fuzzy jackrabbit went hopping along the walkway. All the children went scurrying after it but the rabbit was too quick hid in the near by bushes. The older kids could still see darting in and out of the bushes. Little Addy struggled to see so dad hoisted her up so she could catch a quick glimpse of the wild rabbit before it disappeared into the thick desert plants.

Daughters Avery and Addy along with big brother Kaden had a vibrancy about them. Such sweet happy kids that had a fun time standing for the camera even though they wanted to dart off into the park. Flashing back to earlier years of family holiday photo times with them, there was a time when Kaden took off from us to avoid photos! This year, he was much more into the idea. What was especially special was when the kids were given the opportunity to pose along their personalities flourished and they had a blast. Although, at times, they found it challenging to even stand close to each other; with enough encouragement, they gave in and “acted” as if they liked each other. We both grew up with brothers and can remember times like these with our siblings! And we hope as these youngsters grow that one day they look back at these photos and remember these times with each other, cherishing these moments they had together as children.

Christel, it's been so wonderful photographing your family every year and watching these beautiful kids of yours grow and become the people they are meant to be. It still feels like just yesterday you were still pregnant with Addy and now look how big they've all grown! With all those memories of spending time with your family flooding back while editing your photos this year, it made me tear up a bit! Kids, quoting your mom, "slow down on the growing!"

Nichols Park Engagement - Kristy & Lydell

Kristy and Lydell have a radiating happiness. An unparalleled love. A love as beautiful as the setting golden sun. Kristy wore a blue dress almost the color of the ocean with perfectly placed floral pattern. The playful dress mirrored her bight personality! Both of them smiled and laughed the entire time. We could see their lively smiles from far across the park. As Lydell led Kristy to us, as she gracefully walked, we could imagine her on her wedding day. We imagine the two making their first entrance as husband and wife. They have such a strong bond. A perfect love. A forever lasting friendship. These two were the most delightful couple! Lydell swatted bugs off and picked leaves from her hair. It was so sweet!

Lydell and Kristy recently returned back to the desert after living in Oahu, where Kristy was completed her Master's degree. While on the islands, Lydell had decided to ask Kristy that very important question! It was their anniversary. Kristy had no idea what Lydell had in store for them! The sun was rising on the beautiful, timeless sandy beach. Lydell had made the impression for Kristy that they were taking anniversary photos. So of course she dressed the part!  Little did she know that it was really a proposal! Kristy admitted she was completely surprised. Lydell had chosen the ring nearly a month before! An absolutely beautiful flower design. It was delicately placed behind the linens in a rather noisy bag. The morning of their anniversary, before they left, Lydell had to retrieve the ring from the bag, making a rather loud rusting noise! It almost spoiled the plan! Fortunately, he thought quick on his feet and when Kristy inquired of the strange noise, Lydell fibbed and said he was digging in the trash. Such a fun story with such an enchanting ending.

Congratulations Kristy and Lydell! May your days be blessed with many magical moments.

Nichols Park Maternity - Kristin

Kristin made the long hour journey to Gilbert, to the lush green of Nichols Park. Her family was happy to join the special occasion. They wanted to be apart of these last moments with mom before she has baby brother Grayson! Her husband, Marcus, daughter, Charlotte (4) and son, Gavin (8) made for the most magically shoot. Gavin and Charlotte just beamed with excitement when we asked them how they felt about their new bother. Charlotte covered up her tiny mouth with her little hands, trying to hide her glowing grin. We noticed her bitty nails delicately painted burgundy red. She was thrilled when we pointed out how pretty they looked! Gavin, a rough and tumble boy. took advantage of the forestry area in the middle of the city. He leaped around, chasing jacket rabbits, breaking sticks, and swatting bugs.  Girl and boy, so different in their moods and interests but equally love their mom and dad. Such beautiful little ones! We were so happy to meet!

Then, there is the wonderful mother to be, who seemed so at ease. The last few weeks of pregnancy can be a challenge, always feeling uncomfortable and tired. Kristin was none of those! She was so elegant and fresh looking. Her beautiful floral dress complimented her heart-warming smile. When we shot images of Kristin with Marcus their love was so apparent! The few times we asked them to kiss, they seemed to melt away from us! Falling into the moment, being completely alone. Together.

They both picked the perfect location for their shoot. The golden light of the setting sun colored the fall leaves in the towering trees. The scenery gave a sense of life and renewal, the perfect setting for the up coming arrival of their new addition in December. Although, Kristin wouldn’t mind a sooner delivery! Kristin, congratulations to the both of you and your wonderful kiddos!
